Executive Management
Grant Smith, Ph.D.
President
Grant started Valid Results in 2000 and has been working in research & management for over 20 years. He currently oversees the operation of the business and is involved in client/project consultation, research design, statistical analysis and reporting.
A teacher while attending graduate school, he entered into operations research and management with Florida Progress Corporation from 1986 through 1993. Grant worked as a consultant in the Statistical Consulting Center and the Center for Educational Technology at The Florida State University from 1990 through 1997. Since 1997 he has been working as a research consultant servicing various industries including: medical devices, pharmaceuticals, education and other research companies.
Grant has a doctorate in measurement and statistics from the Florida State University. Grant is a member of the American Statistical Association, American Society for Quality, American Marketing Association and American Educational Research Association. His research interests include: dynamic forecasting, structural equation modeling and measurement theory. He has published articles in Quality Progress, Quality Engineering and coauthored a book "Successful Applications of Quality Systems in K-12 Schools."
Shawn Taylor
Director of Research
Shawn has been working with Valid Results since 2002. His current responsibilities include questionnaire design, client consultations, statistical analysis and report writing. Shawn also manages the programming and accuracy of all internet data collection.
Shawn has an undergraduate degree in Finance and Economics, as well as an MBA from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the American Marketing Association and his research interests include: decision-oriented market segmentation studies, multivariate analysis, and predictive modeling.
John Stang
Director of Business Development
John has been working at Valid Results in a variety of capacities since 2003. His current responsibilities include new business research and development and strategic planning. John assists in the research process in analysis and reporting as well.
John holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of South Florida and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at USF.
